Toofer and The Giblet Honored as Finalists in the 2022 International Book Awards

2022 International Book Award Finalists

American Book Fest announced the winners and finalists of THE 2022 INTERNATIONAL BOOK AWARDS (IBA) on June 3, 2022. Over 400 winners and finalists were announced in over 90 categories. Awards were presented for titles published in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Jeffrey Keen, President and CEO of American Book Fest, said this year’s contest yielded thousands of entries from authors and publishers worldwide, which were then narrowed down to the final results.

Keen says of the awards, “The 2022 results represent a phenomenal mix of books from a wide array of publishers worldwide. IBA’s success begins with the enthusiastic participation of authors and publishers. It continues with our distinguished panel of industry judges who bring to the table their extensive editorial, PR, marketing, and design expertise.”

Dragon Horse Publishing is proud to have Toofer and The Giblet by Paulette LeBlanc honored as a finalist in not one but two categories this year.  Our favorite Niblewood characters have been recognized as finalists in the Children’s Fiction category and Best Cover Design Fiction category.   Here is what Toofer and The Giblet had to say about their award:

“ Gib, it looks like we won the International Book Awards. “How exciting! What category, Toof” “ Cover design and fiction.” “Is that the stories….or the pictures?” The Giblet asked. “Well, it’s both, Gib,” Toof answered. “Because I wrote those stories, Toof. “ I know, Gib. They like the pictures too.”  “Do you know if they’re handing out stickers with the awards?”  “ Why would they hand out stickers, Gib?” Toofer asked.  “Well, folks like them.” “You mean, YOU like them, Gib.” “ Fine, Toof. I like them. So…will there be stickers?”

Well Gib, we aren’t sure about stickers, but you do have so much to be proud of.  Keep telling your stories. The sky is the limit.
